One thing we all like in our lives is our security. It
sometimes seems easier to just keep doing the things that we have always done in
our lives. We keep repeating our patterns over and over to the point where we
start to wonder why we haven’t attracted any significant changes in our lives.
Many times we are just scared or frightened to make any changes to our lives just in
case they don’t work out right. Or maybe we will end up much worse of then
before. Or maybe by making big changes in our lives, we think that we might lose
The truth is that we “should” step out of our normal patterns and start
taking some risks. For a person who doesn’t take risks, is a person who will
remain in the same life situation over and over for some time. Or this person
may, as we say become stagnant in their lives.
You see, when we start taking risks we may start by being worse off then before, or
maybe we might even lose something. But if you truly do leap forward and start
taking risks, then you can move yourself out of whatever situation you might be
You see what we need to do when we start taking risks is do our homework.
In other words, before we make a decision about taking a risk, gather as much
information as we possibly can, that way we have more chance that the decision,
or risk will be successful.
I have met many people in my life, who would never take a risk and try to
advance. Many have told me, that they once they took a risk and lost something.
And what did they do after that? Well they completely closed up, and stayed
stagnant in their life situation. And that’s exactly where they will remain
until they are again prepared to take another risk, or have another go if you
Let me give you another example: A person who plays lotto will almost certainly lose his six, or ten dollars that he spends each week. The odds are stacked against him. But does that mean that he should never play again? Certainly not. For this person knows the risk he takes will end up far better if successful, then not taking a risk. And so, this person continually keeps trying to win.
Let me give you another example: I know this lady who moved house many
years ago, and she tells me that it was the worst decision that she ever made.
She doesn’t like the house, she doesn’t like the area, and she doesn’t like the
town where she is either. And you know she has now been in that house for over
ten years. You see, she is now scared to take another risk, or make another
move, just in case she makes the same mistake, and ends up in the same
situation. And you see, until she does take another risk, she will end up in the
same old boat day in, day out.
So I’d like you to ask yourself a question. Are you a person who makes
decisions and takes risks, or are you a person that doesn’t and is stuck in a
life situation. Remember, to truly go forward and attract new situations in our
lives, we must endeavour to take
So just in finishing my parable, may you all learn to take risks, but
also learn to do your studies and find out as much information as you can about
the risks you might take. And through taking these risks, may you all find what
it is your searching for in your
